Come into your session with an open mind. Structural Integration work is much more than a quick-fix; it is a process of transformation to a higher state of health and well-being. Be in the present moment and pay attention to the changes Enjoy and learn about your body.  Each session builds on the one before, preparing you for the next one.

Getting Ready

  • Do not wear any skin lotion before your session, as it will prevent optimal manipulation of the tissue and potentially nullify the final result

  • Make sure you hydrate before and after your session. The work is far more effective on a well hydrated body

  • Arrive on time. If you have to re-schedule, do it 24 hours before your appointment

  • Refrain from drinking alcohol or using recreational substances until 24 hours before your session.

What should I wear during my session?

  • Choose clothing that allows you to feel comfortable as you will be moving and walking. Wear clothing that is loose and elastic enough to move around.

  • Remove jewelry, wristwatches and any accessories.

  • WOMEN: Bra (strapless is ideal) and underwear. Two piece -bathing suits, strapless bras and boy-shorts are also great. Tanks tops are OK. If you can, please do not wear sports bras or halter tops (tie behind neck), they get in the way and the work will not be as effective around the neck and shoulders.

  • MEN: Stretchy boxer / briefs shorts, brief underwear, speedos or spandex shorts are recommended.

What to expect on your first session

  • Duration: Allow 90 minutes to 2 hours for the first session (including up to 30 minutes to discuss your medical history, specific concerns or issues you wish to address and answer any questions you may have about the process)

  • Assessment: A brief analysis of your body structure and its functionality standing and walking will be performed prior to the bodywork. A treatment plan will be designed and implemented to address your unique needs throughout the progression of the sessions the plan will modify based on your body’s responses and feedback

  • Bodywork: Structural Integration technique uses hands, knuckles and the occasional elbow to discover and relieve places of strain and maximize your body’s functionality.

What to expect on sesiones two to ten

  • Duration: 60 to 90 minutes each. Sessions may vary in length depending on the specific needs of your body structure.

  • Follow-up Assessments: Each session will begin with a short assessment to evaluate how your body has responded and assimilated the previous sessions.

  • Bodywork: Each session concentrates on different aspects of your body’s structural and functional patterns. The results become cumulative as each session’s results add to the previous ones.

  • Plan to abstain from strenuous exercise after your session. Your body will need a few hours to unwind and adapt

  • A lot of things have moved in your body during your session. Be sure to keep hydrated after your sessions as it’s key for the process.

  • Sometimes trauma and emotions can be stored in the fascia. During Structural integration work, it is common for these emotions to be released. Be sure you have a support system like a family member, therapist, spiritual adviser in case you need help.

  • Refrain from drinking alcohol or using recreational substances until 24 hours after your session.
